We’ve just successfully completed the first test of our release system from a tethered balloon! This type of test is important as it brings us closer to real operating conditions. Our extraction process was carefully tuned over a series of experiments (5 flights), resulting in an effective mechanism. Further experiments of this type will be planned to guarantee the reliability of the system.

In today’s tests, the emphasis was on hardware aspects. The drone was therefore controlled manually. The next step is to improve our navigation algorithms! Only then will we be ready for our first real flight from a stratospheric balloon! We thank the StratoFly association with which we work closely to make these tests.
